Neum Underwater Film Festival s dosad najboljom selekcijom filmova

U petak, 18. kolovoza započeo je treći po redu Neum Underwater Film festival s projekcijama podvodnih filmova autora koji su oduševili publiku amaterskih i studentskih filmova koje su se održavale od 17 sati pod nazivom Fest & Val, a nastavljene prikazivanjem filmova finalista, tj službeme selekcije za nagrade.

Brojni inozemni i domaći gosti došli su u Neum uživati u Festivalu, popratnom programu, festivalskom umrežavanju i radionici Lorenza Moscie iz Italije.

Festival je otvorila Julijana Mikulić Jurković izvršna producentica Neum Underwater Film Festivala riječima: „Dobro došli na treći Neum underwater film festival. Okupili smo se danas u Neumu kako bismo proslavili vrijednost podvodnog filma koji ima moć prenijeti na nas emocije autora, pokrenuti razgovore koji nadilaze granice država, što pokazuju autori i žiri koji je ovdje večeras s nama iz Engleske, Francuske, Italije, Hrvatske, Turske, Bosne i Hercegovine…. Umjetnost spaja.“

Goste je pozdravila i predsjednica Općinskog Vijeća Neum Danijela Matić te veleposlanik Italije u Bosni i Hercegovini Marco Di Ruzza. Nj.e. Marco Di Ruzza zahvalio se na pozivu osnivaču festivala Ivi Mikuliću, pozdravio izvrsnost i unikatnost Neum Underwater Film Festivala na svjetskoj karti festivala, te istakanuo suradnju Italije i potporu Veleposlanstva Italie projektima iz kulture u Bosni i Hercegovini.

Prikazani su filmovi sa sve četiri strane svijeta koji prikazuju bogatstva podvodnog svijeta kroz različite oči umjetnika, studenata i amatera. Prikazuju ljubav prema moru, rijekama, jezerima, ronjenju i istraživanju. Dio autora podvodnih filmova je kroz svoje filmske uratke apelirao na ljudsku svijest vazano za odnos prema moru, rijekama i okruženju …………

Pobjednici Neum Underwater Film Festivala 2023

Žiri u sastavu Mike Frankel SAD, fotograf; Jurica Gašpar HR, glavni urednik Morski.hr; Gareth Bartlett UK, Grand Prix Neum Underwater Film Festivala 2021, ronilac, režiser, vlogger; Ante Džono BiH, ronilac iz Neuma i predsjednik Hrvatskog ronilačkog kluba Neum; Nikša Kaleb HR, profesionalni ekstremni ronilac, svjetski i olimpijski prvak u rukometu; Lorenzo Moscia ITA, multimedijalni umjetnik iz Rima; Marisa Cecchetti ITA, underwater koreografkinja i instruktor ronjenja; Clayton Conn SAD, novinar BBC-a, podvodni snimatelj, pobjednik Neuma 2022 – donijeli su odluku o pobjednicima i to:

– “Polietileno”, film Adriane Michelson (El Salvador) je proglašen najboljim eko filmom festivala.
– Nagrada za najbolju originalnu glazbu je otišla filmu iz Mauriciusa „Call from the Ocean“ i to redatelju Luka Doherti Bigara i skladatelju Vinsent Bertelotu.
– Nagrada za najbolju kameru dobio je film Visit the Thistlegorm“ redatelja Gilles Charvet iz Francuske a glavnu nagradu, Best film award – Grand Prix 2023 osvaja film „Reminder“ Akina Bagcilara iz Turske.

Nagrada publike

Svake godine i publika glasuje za najbolji film, ove godine za samo 3 glasa više, pobijedio je film „Underwater painting“ redateljice Olge Belka. Drugo mjesto piblike osvaja Reminder a treće Schnelbot S57.

U prvom redu su autori

U subotu je Neum Underwater Festival nastavljen filmskom radionicom i prenosom iskustva od strane Lorenzo Moscia iz Italije, na temu „Kako ispričati podvodnu priču“, pobjednika Neum Underwater Film Festivala 2022. godine u kategoriji eko film, koji je prikazao svoj bogati opus fotografija, podvodnih filmova, korištene tehnike i opasnih situacija na snimanjima. Okupljeni autori iz svijeta razmjenuli su svoja iskustva i najbolje prakse.

Neum Underwater Film Festival organizira Udruga Standard. Festivalski plavi ambient i klasična glazba idu skupa, a profesorica cella Jelena Marković Milićević izvela je četiri kratka djela između filmskih projekcija. Audio video produkciju izvršili su Masters media iz Čapljine, a festivalski dizajnerski outfit oblikovao je Antonio Slavujević.

On Friday, August 18^th, 3^rd Neum Underwater Film Festival started showing projections of underwater films which left audience in awe. Fest & Val started at 5pm with projection of amateur and student films and it later continued with projection of films made by finalists (official selection for awards).

Numerous foreign and local guests came to Neum to enjoy the Festival and related programs as well as workshop held by Lorenzo Moscia from Italy.

Julijana Mikulic, executive producer of Neum Underwater Film Festival, opened with following statement: “Welcome to 3^rd Neum Underwater Film Festival. We are gathered here today in Neum to celebrate the value of underwater film which has the power to transfer onto us emotions of the authors, to start dialogues that surpass the country boarders, which can be seen by numerous members of jury which have joined us from England, France, Italy, Croatia, Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina… Art connects.”

Guests were also greeted by the president of Municipality Council Neum, Danijela Matic and Italian ambassador Marco Di Ruzza. Marco Di Ruzza gave special thanks to founder of the Festival, Ivo Mikulic. He also gave a salute to uniqueness and excellence of Neum Underwater Film Festival on the world map of festival and pointed out that there is a great cooperation of Italy and support of Italian embassy to cultural projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Movies from all over the world were shown during the Festival where you could see the richness of the underwater world through the eyes of different artists, students and amateurs. They show love towards the sea, rivers, lakes, diving and research. Some of the authors called out, through their films, for awareness of the importance of preservation of sea, rivers and nature in general.

Winners of Neum Underwater Film Festivala 2023

Judges were following: Mike Frankel USA, photographer; Jurica Gašpar HR, chief editor of Morski.hr; Gareth Bartlett UK, Grand Prix Neum Underwater Film Festivala 2021, diver, director, vlogger; Ante Džono BiH, diver from Neum and president of Croatian diving club Neum; Nikša Kaleb HR, professional extreme diver, world and Olympic volleyball champion; Lorenzo Moscia ITA, multi-medial artist from Rome; Marisa Cecchetti ITA, underwater choreographer and diving instructor; Clayton Conn SAD, BBC-a journalist, underwater filmmaker, winner of Neum Underwater Film Festival 2022. They have announced the following winners:

“Polietileno”, film by Adriana Michelson (El Salvador) was declared as the best eco-film
Best music award went to film from Mauricius, „Call from the Ocean“, from director Luka Dohert Bigar and composer Vinsent Bertelot
Award to best camera went to the film “Visit the Thistlegorm“ by director Gilles Charvet from France
Best film award – Grand Prix 2023 went to film „Reminder“ by Akin Bagcilar from Turkey.

Audience award

Each year the audience votes for the best film. This year, by 3 votes, the award went to film „Underwater painting“ by director Olga Belka. Film Reminder came second and film Schnelbot S57 third.

Authors come first

On Saturda 19^th, Neum Underwater Film Festival continued with workshop by Lorenzo Mscia from Italy. He passed on all his experience to attendees through the topic “How to tell an underwater story”. He won the award for best eco-film in Neum Underwater Film Festival 2022. He showed numerous photographs, underwater films, techniques he used in making the film and also some dangerous situations that have occurred in the process of filmmaking. All of the authors that have gathered from all around the world, shared their experiences and best practices.

Neum Underwater Film Festival is organized by Standard association. Festival´s blue ambient and classical music really do go well combined, and cello professor Jelena Markovic Milicevic played four short pieces between film projections. Audio and video production was done by Masters media from Capljina and festival´s designer outfit was formed by Antonio Slavujević.
